As you probably know by now, Brazilian Rosewood is becoming increasingly difficult to get and isaccordingly more expensive every year. Collings Guitars has stopped taking orders for the wood. The smaller makers that we represent including Bourgeois, Huss & Dalton,Santa Cruz, and Froggy Bottom still have supplies of excellent qualilty wood, but what with the current trend, this won't last forever! So here is our current selection of these fabulous guitar! Please also be advised the due to the CITES Treaty we are not able to or allowed to ship Brazilian guitars outside of the United States.

- Froggy Bottom H-12 40th Anniversary New
Please call or email for price
- This 40th Anniversary H-12 Froggy Bottom is the most perfect, most beautiful guitar we has ever had at Maple Leaf Music. Let's start with the basics. The wood is Michael's old Martin-style straight-grained Brazilian rosewood with a Brazilian-overlayed slot peg-head. The top is first grade red Adirondack spruce. The fingerboard is inlayed with pearl engraved by master engraver Glenn Carson (for more stunning examples of his work please visit Will Fielding's web site at http:www.fieldingbanjos.com/inlays.html). The Froggy Bottom frog in the peg-head is also engraved in a 19th century Fairbanks/Consalvi style of engraving. The autumn leaves on the heel-cap are engraved and colored by Petria Mitchell. Basically this is one classy guitar, stylistically elegant, whole and complete. The sound is magnificent and will only get better; a finger-picker's dream. This guitar is one of 12 40th Anniversary models that will be produced this year by Michael Millard and his crew; only 6 are being offered to stores and this is the second one made so far in the series! A collectors paradise for sure. More photos on request.

- SHHH! Don't tell her that she's a very small guitar because her voice is so huge she thinks she's a Dread. Aaron bar-chorded all the way up the neck and said that this is one of the most balanced guitars he's ever played- not an iota of drop off in volume as he went up. Open, clear and incredibly responsive, this is one of the best sounding guitars Huss has ever made. Flashy Brazilian rosewood and tasteyfully bearclawed Adirondack ( and this from a lady who doesn't really like breaclaw!). !2 frets, slot peg-head, 1 3/4 nut and 24.9" scale, 14" lower bout. More photos on request.

- Martin 1-21 1914 Used $4,000.00
- A little sweet heart from the days when Brazilian Rosewood was The Only Rosewood and it was great! This little parlor guitar has of course seen some things we can only read about in the history books and she has had a few repairs over the years. But for as old as she is she is in most excellent condition.
For the repairs- the bridge has been replaced three times. This last bridge, built by Nashville picker and repairman Rick Starkey. It is the most unfortunate part of the package, as whoever replaced it before Rick did put on an oversized bridge and excised the top finish when it was done. So Rick had to decide whether he should put on the correct sized bridge, leaving a big area around it with no finish- ugly to be sure- or put on another large bridge. There was really no question of how to approach the problem, so the Starkey bridge is also larger than the original. Onto the rest of the guitar. The tuners have been replaced with appropriate open gear nickel Grovers. One back crack and a couple side cracks have been glued and cleated. The top is wonderfully crackless. As for sound, Aaron says :super sweet! She rings all day, very open sounding. Amazing! She came in in an old cardboard case, so we were most fortunate that the TKL cases made for the Canadian Godin parlor guitars are a perfect fit! Guess where they got their dimensions!
