If ever there was a banjo that could be labeled "Steam-Punk" it would be this Pisgah Dobson Rambler. It fits somewhere between the turn of the last century and the turn of the next. Pisgah gave this Rambler a spun-over rim like the instruments of yore, but that spun rim is of sleek stainless steel and the Rambler has a consistent, impervious, and super-fast Richlite fretboard like the banjos of the future. All in all, it melds creativity, tradition, and sustainability into one totally cool instrument.
This banjo is not one you'd call mellow; it has a great Dobson tone that is amplified in volume and in overtone qualities by the singing stainless steel rim. Dampen it and you could get a very sweet percussive air going, or let it ring free and you'll turn every head that matters your way.
It, in our humble opinion, is a very finely crafted machine.
