Tune Books
We carry as many of the in-print tune books as are published today, including many imports. If you are looking for a particular tune, please contact us and we will search in our the books for you. Sometimes book prices increase; I do my best to keep up with the increases but with so many books on the site, I am apt to miss a re-pricing from a distributor. So I may have to charge you a few dollars more than our listed price- but only if the price has gone up for us! Thanks for your patience in this matter.
- Caedmon Capers $8.95

- English dances and tunes.
- English Country Dance Tunes $17.00
- Dave Mallinson

- English Pub Session Tunes $17.00
- Dave Mallinson
- Dave is now doing for the English fiddle tradition what he did for the Irish-though how many of the tunes are originally English I'm not sure as with a quick glance through there are decidedly French Canadian, Irish, American and tunes from the Howe collection. It is nice that he features several sections of easy tunes and then ends with tunes that are "A bit of a Challenge"!
- Lincolnshire Collections Volume 1 $18.95
- Joshua Gibblns
- Tunes from a variety of sources, collected in Tealby, Lincolnshire (England) between 1823 and 1826 by Joshua Gibbons, a papermaker and fiddler. The original manuscript, a note book with dozens of tunes crammed into it as they were notated by Mr. Gibbons when he either learned or discovered them was donated to a museum in Scunthorpe and "discovered" by a local musician. This collection of 186 tunes has been edited and many of the tunes have been transposed to the fiddle-friendly keys of G and D rather than B flat and F and C. It is an unusual collection in that it contains 30 tunes harmonised for two or three instruments, either for Church Band or Village Band or a marching band connected with local volunteers or militia. Fascinating! Add this one to your collection!
- Mally's Cotswold morris Book Vol. 1 $20.95 with CD.
- Dave Mallinson
- This collection of morris music, although by no means comprehensive, contains most of the dance tunes currently in vogue in what might be called the popular (British) traditions. All of the tunes can be found elsewhere, but, unlike previous publications, they are all presented in keys which most of today's morris musicians are likely to favor. Ie the Key of G. (to accommodate the melodeans, by inlarge. ) So don't buy this book for fiddle unless you're going to be playing for a team. Chord accompaniments indicated.
- The Barnes Book of English Country Dance Tunes Volume 2 $20.00
